Overview
We're seeking a dynamic and highly organized individual to fill the dual role of Director of Engineering Program Management (TPM) . This unique position requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic leadership, and exceptional operational skills. The ideal candidate will be aforce multiplier, enabling the Head of Technology to focus on long-term strategy and innovation while ensuring the smooth execution of critical initiatives across the organization. You'll be the bridge between the Head of Technology 's vision and the day-to-day operations of the engineering organization.
Responsibilities
As Director of Engineering Program Management:
Lead and mentor a team of Technical Program Managers to drive complex, cross-functional programs from conception to launch.
Establish and refine TPM best practices, processes, and frameworks to improve predictability, quality, and velocity of engineering projects.
Partner with Engineering, Release, Infrastructure teams to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and roadblocks, ensuring timely delivery of key initiatives.
Communicate program status and performance to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Act as a strategic advisor to the Head of Technology, providing data-driven insights and recommendations on critical business and technical decisions.
Manage the CTO's priorities and schedule, ensuring their time is effectively allocated to strategic initiatives.
Prepare and facilitate key meetings, including executive reviews, all-hands meetings, and board presentations.
Drive and track key strategic initiatives for the CTO, ensuring accountability and progress across the organization.
Serve as a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, handling communications on behalf of the Head Of Technology.
Qualifications
Minimum 10+ years of experience in technology, with at least 5 years in a leadership role as a Technical Program Manager, Engineering Manager, or similar.
Proven experience in a Chief of Staff or similar strategic support role is highly preferred.
Deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, and project management tools.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving complex projects to successful completion.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
