About your role:
You will lead Decision Science & Risk Solutions for Fraud & Credit Risk within Merchant Solutions at Fiserv, driving data‑driven strategies that enable growth while protecting revenue and minimizing losses. The role oversees development and delivery of production analytics, real‑time decisioning, and advanced model governance to support fraud and credit risk operations.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and scale a team of 20-25 data scientists, data engineers, and data product specialists to deliver fraud and credit risk analytical solutions.
- Define strategy and roadmap for predictive modeling, real‑time decisioning, feature engineering, and model lifecycle management.
- Oversee design, development, validation, and production deployment of machine learning and AI models to detect fraud and assess credit risk.
- Partner with engineering and platform teams to build low‑latency scoring systems, feature stores, and MLOps pipelines that support operational decisioning.
- Integrate and evaluate external data sources (bureau, alternative, and third‑party data) to enhance model performance and coverage.
- Establish model governance, documentation, validation processes, backtesting, and regulatory reporting to meet internal and external compliance requirements.
- Communicate analytical findings and risk tradeoffs to senior stakeholders and influence product, risk, and commercial decisions.

Experience you’ll need to have:
- 15+ years of experience in developing and productionizing predictive models and machine learning solutions using Python (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and R.
- 13+ years of experience designing and operating large-scale data platforms and architectures using AWS (S3, Redshift), Azure or GCP, Apache Spark, and Databricks.
- 13+ years of experience implementing model governance, validation, backtesting, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., SR 11-7, FFIEC model risk guidance).
- 13+ years of experience delivering real-time decisioning and MLOps solutions including Kafka, Flink, feature stores, and model serving (REST/gRPC).
- 12+ years of experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data warehousing (Snowflake, Redshift), and data modeling for analytics.
- 12+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
- 12+ years of equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience.
Experience that would be great to have:
- Hands‑on experience with real‑time fraud detection platforms and payment processing systems.
- Experience working with credit bureau integrations and alternative data providers for credit scoring.
- Demonstrated experience managing large unstructured datasets and big data processing pipelines.
- Proven track record delivering enterprise model governance in financial services or payments.
- Executive communication and stakeholder management across risk, product, and technology functions.
How you’ll work:
- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
- This role requires the use of a computer and audio equipment.
- This role requires flexibility to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.
