The Lead Sourcing Specialist - Buying/Procurement at GE Aerospace will play a critical role in driving sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely procurement of high-quality materials and services to support GE Aerospace's operations. In this role, will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cost, quality, and delivery while adhering to GE Aerospace's commitment to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
With our state-of-the-art Flight Management System (FMS) powering all the major narrowbodies, and our open computing suite (Integrated Modular Avionics, Common Core System) powering Boeing’s 787 and 777X platforms, GE Aerospace's avionics provide safety and advanced technology to all customers.
As a trusted partner on western defense platforms, GE Aerospace’s Systems offer tailor-made solutions for both fixed and rotary wings military applications, including KC-46, P-8, F-35, and F-18. Our avionics team is primarily based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Clearwater, Florida with additional support received from our global sites.
Job Description
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the procurement process for assigned commodities, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services to meet production schedules.
- Manage purchase orders, supplier agreements, and contracts in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure alignment with GE Aerospace's quality and delivery standards.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiations, alternative sourcing strategies, and value engineering.
- Collaborate with internal teams to achieve cost reduction targets while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
- Assess and mitigate risks in the supply chain, ensuring business continuity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Proactively address supply chain disruptions and implement contingency plans.
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and program management teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
- Analyze procurement data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present reports on sourcing performance, cost savings, and supplier metrics.
- Ensure all sourcing activities comply with GE Aerospace's policies, ethical standards, and export control regulations.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university (or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum 8 years of experience in sourcing).
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.

- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
- Preferred certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management).
- Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulations.
- Experience with lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

This position may be eligible for the following flexible work arrangements (FWA):
- Candidates must reside locally for a hybrid work schedule (i.e. 3 days onsite at the Grand Rapids, MI facility and 2 days remote per week)
- Schedule subject to change based on business needs
