The Production Manager has direct responsibility for operations personnel and is accountable to drive unit performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This position is accountable for daily direction, building effective teams, developing people, and following training systems to ensure that Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost results are met. This role is part of a new production line and will be responsible for organizational development and work processes for a new and growing team.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Providing leadership and people development to set priorities and high expectations, drive for results, engage employees, and effectively measure and manage operating performance in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
- Develop programs and practices to drive operational discipline / conduct of operations within a PSM chemical facility
- Driving a proactive, learning, productive, and performance-driven work culture that is aligned to meet key business objectives
- Driving consistency through visible leadership, developing, and coaching operations specialists, area trainer, and unit shift leaders, Holding them accountable to their roles
- Championing and implementing improvement projects and processes that support key business objectives
- Owns operations unit compliance with all applicable regulations, including PSM
- Conducting and participating in EHS audits and completing corrective actions for EHS recommendations
- Leads and/or coaches problem solving within operations steam, including RCA, 5Why, and other problem-solving tools
- Oversee operations team staffing and recruiting process
- Coaching production supervisors on performance management
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years in Manufacturing)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership position
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Process Safety Management facility or high-risk manufacturing environment
Desired Characteristics:
- Previous leadership experience of organization of hourly employees preferred
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of environmental safety and health policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations including Process Safety Management and Safe Work Permitting
- Previous experience working in a 24/7 facility preferred
- Experience working within Lean/Six-Sigma manufacturing systems, Green Belt or Black Belt preferred
- Demonstrated experience in leading Root Cause Analysis and Incident Investigations
- Experience with effectively leading teams and developing standard work for operations
- Experience in manufacturing maintenance work process and / or shutdown planning structure preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent coaching and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse team environment through all levels of the organization
