About your role:
In this role you will be primarily responsible for driving remediation and strategic risk reduction within the mainframe program, leveraging advanced data analysis capabilities to address high-impact findings, including past-due items requiring complex, large-scale action plans. Your involvement will include relieving existing staff from performing ad hoc research, conducting risk assessments, project management, and remediation tasks that fall outside their core responsibilities. You will build a new framework for the mainframe risk program which drives operational efficiency and client support. You will also spearhead efforts to optimize mainframe operations through data analysis with a particular eye towards finding efficiencies and deliverables in client support, helping to minimize unnecessary spend and identifying avenues to amplify recoverable charges.
What you'll do:
- Oversee monitoring adherence to internal company controls, frameworks, and standards in collaboration with Enterprise Risk and Compliance Working Group (ER CWG), Business Management, Product Management, Infrastructure Management, and other relevant functions such as HR and Legal.
- Facilitates and/or participates in the support of periodic internal assessments aimed at identifying operational/security/T Risks and concerns to company and its clients.
- Facilitates and participates in the support of corporate, external and client audit engagements and communicates these findings to executive management and corporate Audit, Legal and Risk Management departments in a timely manner.
- Assists in assessing how the unit addresses (or will address) challenges/changes with internal and external standards, controls, and frameworks, while promoting consistency of approach and sharing of best practices to promulgate enterprise solutions to common issues.
- Lead proactive risk initiatives aimed at identifying and implementing cost- saving opportunities and operational efficiencies that reduce audit exposure and enhance financial performance.
- Conduct Third-party risk management reviews and assessments for various technologies and services.
Experience you'll need to have:
- 7+ years of working operational risk management experience.
- 7+ years of experience working in banking or financial services.
- 5+ years of experience using a variety of data analytics.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience.
