Position Summary
The NGG program seeks a Systems Administrator to support the Operations & Sustainment (O&S) team. You will be the primary steward of the NGG ground segment computing environment, ensuring high availability, security, and performance for the NICC and operational enclave systems. This role provides both day staff duties and 24/7 on call coverage.

Core Responsibilities
Server & System Management
• Monitor and balance server loads
• Install, configure, and maintain services and applications
• Keep asset management records and system documentation current and accurate
Troubleshooting & Support
• Diagnose hardware/software interface issues
• Produce detailed Discrepancy Reports and support DR processing boards
• Provide on call coverage for urgent fixes
Technical Collaboration
• Partner with NGG Factory, SBIRS CRGS, CONUS/OCONUS RGS, Mission Processing, RTS, SCN, etc., to resolve cross program outages
• Participate in GSWG, SAWG, TIM, and system integration boards
Security & Compliance
• Manage user, service, and privileged accounts
• Track software licenses and initiate emergency patch requests
• Run STIG scans and gather evidence for cyber accreditation/re accreditation
Process & Improvement
• Contribute to requirements specification drafts and design reviews
• Perform system analyses, trade studies, and recommend operational/engineering enhancements
• Develop and enforce policies for computing resource allocation, backup, and recovery
Leadership & Mentorship
• Lead and mentor a small team of junior system administrators, providing technical guidance and performance feedback
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the O&S environment
• Coordinate training sessions and knowledge transfer activities to ensure team readiness for 24/7 operations
Basic Qualifications:• Proficient with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Proficient with RHEL
• Ability to work effectively on a fast paced, dynamic team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• 6 + years of systems administration experience in a multi user, 24/7 environment
• Demonstrated success collaborating with distributed teams and external partners
• Active TS/SCI clearance (or ability to obtain)
Desired Skills:• Security+ certification (to be earned within six months)
• Self starter, highly organized, capable of working with limited supervision while maintaining strong teamwork
• Proven ability to juggle competing priorities and make sound recommendations for operational or engineering improvements
• Experience with operational certifications or similar credentials is a plus
• Systems thinking mindset – can analyze complex interactions and propose innovative solutions

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $117,200 - $206,770. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
