Title:
DG BOSS: Sheet Metal Worker (FN)
- Under the supervision of the Superintendent/Site Supervisor, the position is responsible for leading a group of Sheet metal workers in the maintenance and repair of facilities Metalwork systems.
- Sheet metal workers fabricate or install products that are made from thin metal sheets, such as ducts used in heating and air conditioning systems.
- Utilize and interpret blueprints to determine how and where to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal products.
- Measure, mark dimensions and lay out material to be installed using tools such as scribes, rulers, calculators and squares.
- Fasten joints and seams in sheet metal with solder, welds, caulk, bolts and metal driver clips, ensuring work is done carefully and bonds will last.
- Install assemblies, including pipes, HVAC ducts, flashings, rain gutters and furnace casings in supportive frameworks.
- Ensure that efficiency is maximized while fabricating and installing HVAC systems.
- Perform routine and unplanned maintenance on roofing and cladding and on the ducting and piping of air conditioning systems, carrying out repair work using hammers, drills, welding equipment and other tools.
- Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file and grind metal surfaces and joints of parts that have been assembled to ensure safety and a seamless appearance.
- Select the appropriate type and gauge of sheet metal to be used in projects according to specifications.
- Ensure safety is a priority on the job during all activities, including using tools and installing and fabricating metal.
- Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
- Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities.
- Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
- Performs other duties and activities as directed.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be able to read, interpret blueprints and design and follow engineering drawings, specifications and
- instructions.
- Ability to design and fabricate sheet metal products, such as ducting, piping and tubing.
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, bending, standing, climbing or walking.
- Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment.
- Must speak, read, and understand the English Language.
- Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
- Must have a valid Professional Driver’s License with at least Restriction Code 2.
Preferred Qualifications

- Certification/s are required:
- Aluminum Sheet Metal Cladding
- Basic and Advance Sheet Metal Repair
- Basic Sheet Metal Repair
- Welding and Metal Fabrication
EDUCATION:
- Must have at least High School diploma, Vocational or Technical course Graduate is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have at least three (3) years’ experience in metal fabrication and installation.
