Description:The Airframe Design Engineering organization is seeking a highly motivated individual with an engineering degree and technical ability to fill the role of entry level Airframe Design Engineer within the Airframe and Mechanical Systems Design organization. The selected candidate will be involved in developing basic data, preliminary design layouts and detail design for new and revised parts, assemblies and systems that make up
helicopter fuselage primary and secondary structures.
This involves working as part of an multi-disciplinary
team. Selected candidate will participate in development and presentation of design proposals. Layouts and drawings will be prepared using CATIA design software. The individual will actively engage in continuous quality improvement through root cause analysis and corrective action processes and the use of other Continuous Improvement (CI) tools.
Basic Qualifications:
* BS in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace
Engineering required from an accredited college or
university.
* Experience using CATIA 3Dx Design tools including the composite design workbench
* Experience with complex contour surface modeling in Catia 3Dx
* Knowledge in the areas of model based engineering design and composite/metallic airframe structure design
Desired Skills:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
* Some exposure to 3D CAD system is desirable.
* Knowledge of aerospace composites and design of composite and metallic aerostructures is desirable.
* Some project or work experience in the design of composite aircraft structural components is desirable.
* Understanding of typical engineering drawing systems as well as model based design definition is a plus.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
