The Southern California Global Design Center Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently seeking experienced Multi-Skilled Project Engineers to become part of the Commercial Modifications Engineering IPT in Long Beach, California.
We are looking for engaged and motivated engineers to join a team of highly skilled Project Engineers working on complex technical work statements in a fast-paced environment.
The Project Engineering teams are responsible for overseeing the execution of interior modification projects on all Boeing airplane platforms (including but not limited to 737, 777, and 787). This position offers excellent career growth opportunities and exposure to a wide range technical disciplines and phases of the product life cycle such as design, certification, sustaining, and capability development.
The selected candidate will perform as technical leader consulting on project proposals, developing integrated project plans, and working closely with program management counterparts and functional engineering teams to enable the successful delivery of high-quality products to our customers. Candidate would also be spearheading emergent technical issue resolution, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and support the development of future Commercial Modifications capabilities.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Senior or Lead Project Engineer.
Position Responsibilities:
- Fully understand the project statement of work including safety and certification requirements
- Facilitates Technical Design Reviews to help drive resolution to complex technical issues
- Provides engineering and integration leadership to teams across multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external stakeholders and customers
- Performs as Project Technical Leader guiding the integrated product team (IPT)
- Develops the integrated project plans, project schedule, statement of work, and certification strategy to support the research and development, ongoing and new business requirements
- Supports project proposal activities by reviewing statement of work, assessing potential impact to certification or to configuration control, and defining overall effort required to complete the project
- Oversee the project execution to completion and monitors and reports project technical performance metrics to leadership
- Identify potential risks to projects and outline coherent action plans for mitigation and resolution
- Compare actual results to the baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and document the lessons learned
- Identify and lead improvement initiatives to optimize organizational quality and project flow
- Work under minimal direction and is proactive
- Some domestic and/or international travel required
This position is 100% on-site. The work will be performed in Long Beach, CA.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 5+ years’ experience in leading teams or projects
- 5+ years’ experience supporting cross functional teams
- Aircraft Interior commodity experience (Interior commodities are items such as overhead stowage bins, lavatories, galleys, seats, PSU, sidewalls, air grilles, flight deck seats, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years' experience as a Technical Lead or Senior Technical Lead on Aerospace Design Vehicles
- Previous experience working in an aircraft modification environment or with Supplemental Type Certifications (STC)
- Has good understanding of CFR Title 14 FAA Part 25 regulations
- Experience working with external suppliers
- Ability to travel domestic & international up to 10% of the time

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range Project Engineer (Senior): $138,550 - $187,450
Summary pay range Project Engineer (Lead): $165,750 - $224,250
