Job Purpose
The Survey Engineer will be responsible for managing all contractual and financial aspects of the ROO Project in Iraq from a surveying and cost-management perspective. This role drives accurate cost estimation, robust budget monitoring, and overall value optimization. The Survey Engineer will mentor and collaborate with engineering and management teams to ensure financial control throughout the project lifecycle and to lead cost-optimization initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and maintenance of accurate cost estimates and budgets for the ROO Project.
- Oversee detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications to ensure precise estimations.
- Monitor project costs across all phases, proactively identifying and addressing potential cost overruns.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents, bills of quantities, and contract administration.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to negotiate and finalize costs.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project specifications and budgets.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts for stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Provide leadership in dispute resolution, claims management, and contractual issues.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards throughout the project.
- Mentor and develop junior QS team members, promoting best practices in cost management and reporting.
- Manage and optimize change control processes, ensuring timely and accurate cost impact assessments.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools (e.g., CostX, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management principles, and risk assessment.
- Experience with financial modeling, cost planning, and forecasting techniques.
- Familiarity with industry standards and practices related to quantity surveying, specifically in Brownfield projects.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications for accurate quantity measurements.

Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, preferably in Brownfield projects.
- Demonstrated experience leading a QS function or survey engineering activities on large projects is preferred.
