Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
The Community Marketing Coordinator supports the station’s efforts to connect with the Tampa Bay community while driving local marketing, branding, promotional, and sales initiatives for Telemundo Tampa (WRMD). This role combines traditional marketing coordination with community engagement to strengthen the station’s presence, enhance partnerships, and expand viewership and revenue opportunities.
Essential Functions
- Develop customized marketing and sales materials to support local sales initiatives and new business opportunities.
- Gather and analyze competitive research and advertiser media spending data.
- Compile, draft, and edit marketing plans, presentations, and proposals for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Sales and Creative Services teams to execute integrated marketing campaigns that align with station goals.
- Generate innovative ideas to drive audience engagement, brand awareness, and potential new revenue streams.
- Serve as a liaison between Telemundo Tampa and local organizations, non-profits, schools, and businesses to build and maintain community relationships.
- Identify and coordinate the station’s participation in community events, festivals, and local initiatives that reflect Telemundo’s mission and values.
- Plan, track, and execute community activations — including logistics, promotional materials, staffing, and on-site execution.
- Work with News, Promotions, and Sales to identify opportunities for news coverage, sponsorship, and brand alignment at community events.
- Represent the station at community events and serve as an on-site ambassador to strengthen viewer connections.
- Develop post-event recaps and reports to evaluate engagement impact and ROI.
- Coordinate community and promotional content across Telemundo Tampa’s digital and social media platforms.
- Manage social media contesting and community-related campaigns: draft rules, coordinate creative materials, verify winners, and report on campaign performance.
- Partner with digital teams to ensure community stories and events are featured across digital platforms.
- Prepare daily promotional and program logs for Telemundo Tampa.
- Maintain event and marketing calendars and ensure accurate documentation of activities and outcomes.
- Support budget tracking for marketing and community projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in marketing, community relations, advertising, or a related creative field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
- Bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
- Experience in social media marketing and digital content management.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be willing to work in Tampa, FL.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional evenings.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.
Desired Characteristics
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Previous experience in community relations, event coordination, or local partnerships preferred.
- Experience in television, media, or entertainment marketing strongly preferred.
- Creative thinker with strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Familiarity with Nielsen/ComScore, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop), or design tools a plus.
- Passion for Hispanic media, community storytelling, and local engagement.
