The Turbomachinery Certification Engineer is responsible for ensuring Solar Turbine’s products meet global regulatory requirement for safety, reliability and market access and comply with all relevant national and international industry standards, regulatory codes, and customer specifications. This role involves managing the entire certification lifecycle, from initial design review and test planning to final documentation and agency submission, guaranteeing the safety, reliability, and performance of the turbomachinery systems.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Interpret and apply industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, API, IEC, NFPA, OSHA) and regulatory requirements (e.g., FAA, EASA, EPA) to gas turbine design and manufacturing processes.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving certification standards and regulatory changes impacting gas turbine technology.
Maintain compliance and certification from project booking to shipment
Develop and execute global certification strategies
Support Sales, Packaging application Engineer, and Business Development
Participate in industry standards development
Review engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications to identify potential compliance issues early in the development cycle.
Work with R&D, design, and manufacturing teams to implement necessary design changes for certification.
Develop and oversee certification test plans (including performance, vibration, stress, and emissions testing) in collaboration with test engineers.
Analyze test data and results to demonstrate compliance with certification requirements.
Prepare, review, and maintain comprehensive certification documentation, including Type Certificates, Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs), compliance matrices, and substantiation reports.
Act as the primary technical liaison with certification agencies and regulatory bodies, managing audits and resolving technical queries.
Conduct formal safety assessments, failure analysis (e.g., OSHA,FMEA, FTA), and reliability studies to support the certification basis.
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field. A master’s degree is a plus
Experience: 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a minimum of 5 years directly involved in certification, compliance, or regulatory affairs within the power generation, aerospace, or oil and gas industries, specifically with gas turbine engines or major rotating machinery.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of gas turbine thermodynamics, performance, mechanical design, and combustion/emissions control.
Regulatory Knowledge: Proven experience interpreting and applying major industry standards (e.g., ASME B7, API 616,) and working with regulatory bodies.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and negotiating with regulatory authorities.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple certification projects concurrently under strict deadlines.
Working knowledge of Creo is preferred
