About your role:
You will support transaction risk management for a portfolio of merchant accounts within Fiserv’s payments and risk organization, helping protect revenue and reduce fraud and credit losses. The team builds analytic and machine-learning solutions to detect and mitigate risk while ensuring accounts meet service and compliance requirements. This role delivers models, rules, and reporting that directly improve portfolio performance and customer outcomes.
What you’ll do:
- Develop, test, and implement machine learning models and rules to mitigate fraud and credit risk for merchant portfolios.
- Analyze large, ambiguous datasets to identify trends, quantify risk, and define strategies to improve portfolio performance.
- Build and maintain automated ETL pipelines, feature stores, and model deployment workflows to support production scoring and monitoring.
- Create internal and external reporting and analytics on an ongoing and ad hoc basis, including dashboards and executive summaries.
- Monitor key performance and risk metrics, investigating deviations and ensuring accounts meet contractual SLAs.
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations directly with external customers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Work with minimal supervision and partner with validation, operations, and engineering teams to operationalize models.

Experience you’ll need to have:
- 1+ years of experience in SQL and working with relational and columnar databases.
- 2+ years of experience working with predictive modeling and big data.
- 3+ years of equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience.
Experience that would be great to have:
- 1+ years of experience in SAS for statistical analysis and legacy model maintenance.
- 2+ years of experience in BI and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) for reporting and dashboard creation.
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience communicating analytics and model implications to external customers and senior stakeholders (stakeholder management).
How you’ll work:
- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
