The Role:
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Cadillac by developing strategies that propel Cadillac’s transformation as a global luxury icon. The Manager, Cadillac Strategy & Activation will collaboratively develop the brand’s global strategy, and translate into prioritized, resourced, and executable initiatives. As a people leader with 2-4 direct reports, you will also serve as the bridge between strategic vision and operational delivery, facilitating cross-functional alignment, removing barriers, and ensuring initiatives are delivered (activated) with measurable success. Key for this position is the focus on partnering with the Sr. Manager on a coherent corporate strategy and executing the corresponding strategic initiatives across Cadillac and GM, driving success for the core business while propelling Cadillac into future opportunities.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with the Sr. Manager, Cadillac Brand VP, and leaders across Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, HR, and global teams to identify, scope, prioritize, resource, and deliver strategic initiatives that support Cadillac’s global vision
- Lead strategic initiatives through the development of work plans, gathering and generation of relevant data, driving analyses, and the development of actionable recommendations
- Facilitate cross functional workshops, applying the right strategic tools and frameworks to drive clarity, alignment, and outcomes
- Oversee initiative planning, timelines, and tracking to ensure execution meets quality, brand, and performance expectations
- Identify and address interdependencies, risks, and resource constraints that could impact initiative delivery
- Partner closely with global and regional teams to ensure market needs are embedded into initiative planning and execution
- Track initiative outcomes and report on progress, ensuring continuous improvement and accountability
- Direct people leadership of small team of analysts and project managers, including team structure, responsibilities, workload, talent management, performance and development
- Develop and deploy strategic toolkits broadly in the organization
- Decision making grounded in data analytics, Voice of Customer, competitive intelligence, luxury and mobility megatrends, and more
- Build credibility and trust with leaders across the organization to achieve collaborative implementation of growth strategies
- Collaborate cross-functionally within the GM enterprise with Planning, Software & Services, R&D/GM Ventures, Innovation, Customer Experience, Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, and others
- Activate external networks as ‘sensory nodes’ to identify new areas of growth, joint business development, and compelling adjacencies for Cadillac’s future business
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or relevant adjacent discipline applicable to Automotive Brand Strategy
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in global strategy, planning, and activation
- Strength and depth of experience in corporate strategy: formulation, activation, and execution coordination. Demonstrated strategy DNA developed from significant experience in strategy consulting or internal corporate strategy leadership roles
- Proven ability to translate strategy into actionable plans with clear outcomes with or for a global organization of significant size and scale
- Proven success navigating large, matrixed organizations to build alignment and influence enterprise priorities
What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)
- MBA or Master in Strategic Management
- Experience in the automotive, luxury, or similarly complex customer industries; global market exposure a bonus
- Prior people leadership with a record of coaching and developing high-performing teams
- Global customer experience and customer success leadership, embedding the voice of the customer into strategic decisions
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels
- Strategic thinker who balances detail orientation with big picture perspective
- Program and project management capabilities with agility to manage strategic and tactical priorities
- Stakeholder management skills and the ability to build credibility and use persuasive leadership across global and regional teams
