The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a Test & Evaluation Engineer to join our team in Long Beach, CA. You'll have the opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects that will shape the future of the aerospace industry. Our current initiatives include developing an integrated test lab for flight hardware, avionics, and flight simulators. Major programs include AvionX, C-17 and others.

Together we will challenge the status quo of Special Test Equipment readiness, deployment, setup, calibration, test support, test asset management and repair and maintenance (R&M).
BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Senior and Lead level Product Security Test Engineers.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Develop and document standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity
Leads the development of test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition, needed to perform the test and minimize risk
Oversees the development of Rough order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates and Basis of Estimates (BoE)s to support proposals and planning for future work
Participate at an enterprise level with BT&E Subject Matter Experts to contribute to design practices, engineering best practices, knowledge sharing, and process improvement
Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Design test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements
Develop data processing tools and algorithms, and generate calibration procedures and software
Lead the design of test hardware, software, and systems to meet test requirements and oversee debriefing of the test team
Lead the analysis, processing, and formatting of data to meet customer requirements, formulate expectations based on historical data, and approve test data prior to delivery
Motivate and develop employees as a lead and mentor
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
5+ years of experience with maintenance of avionics and/or electronic equipment
5+ years of experience with electronic hardware testing and troubleshooting
5+ years of experience working in a laboratory environment
5+ years of experience working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operations procedures
5+ years of experience with testing in the realms of Software and Electronic Hardware development
3+ years of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams
Strong understanding of configuration management tools and best practices for Systems, Software, and Hardware design
Experience with presenting information to leaders and external customers
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience working with electrical data bus interface standards (Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, RS-232)
Experience working with MIL-STD Connectors such as D38999
Experience in developing hardware verification plans, test procedures and test environments, as well as executing the test procedures and documenting test results
Experience working with DOORS to do requirements management
Experience developing, managing, and modifying requirements, design solutions, and verification approaches
Experience leading in an agile/scrum team operating rhythm as a participant or in a role product owner or scrum master
Leading the development of hardware and lab operation engineering BOE

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for senior level: $129,200 – $174,800
Summary pay range for lead level: $159,800 – $216,200
