Description:This is a Full Spectrum Leadership position for the Orion Program on the Docking Flight Software (FSW) Integrated Multidisciplinary (SWIM) team. This leader is responsible for leading the development, integration, and testing of software components for the docking system which includes the following products: the LiDAR and Docking Camera (LDC) and Compact Flight Computer (CFC) FSW and the Rendezvous, Proximity Operations, and Docking (RPOD) FSW. Key responsibilities include:
• Lead the development & integration of RPOD mode team FSW components
• Lead the development and integration of RPOD FSW components with other system components
• Lead the development and integration of LiDAR, Docking Camera, and CFC flight software
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other system components
• Lead the development and integration of docking simulation software components
• Lead the development of software components, including design, implementation, testing, and validation
• Ensure that software components meet requirements and function as expected
• Lead the integration of software components with other system components
• Lead the testing and validation of software components, including functional, performance, and environmental testing
• Communicate technical information and software status to stakeholders, including project managers, customers, and end-users.
Other tasks will include, but are not limited to:
• Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions
• Responsible for providing direction to subordinates based on general policies and management guidance and ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget
• Manage tasking, budget, technical baseline and planning for the team
• Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders and customers
Interested candidates must have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment to achieve long-range goals and objectives, must have strong interpersonal skills, and be adept at fostering relationships and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. The position may also work with hardware and software Responsible System Engineers (RSEs), test lab personnel, subject matter experts, astronaut crew, and NASA mission directorate points of contact.
Basic Qualifications:• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or GN&C
• 5 years as a team lead/manager of employees or project
• Demonstrated software-systems engineering, software full life cycle experience, and hardware-software integration capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to interact with the customer and build effective relationships
• Ability to support moderate travel
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Desired Skills:• Experience in human spaceflight programs
• Experience with LiDAR systems, specifically space applications
• Experience with docking software development or spacecraft docking operations
• Experience in system level integration
• Experience with testing environments for software development, including simulated testing and hardware test labs
• Familiarity with the Orion mission requirements and experience in human spaceflight flight software development
• NASA customer experience
• RSE experience
• CAM or work package manager experience

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $134,000 - $236,325. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
