What does a successful QA Engineer do?
A successful QA Engineer (SDET) at Fiserv designs, builds and maintains automated test frameworks, embeds quality through TDD/BDD practices, and partners with engineering, product and operations teams to ensure software is reliable, secure and aligned to client and business outcomes.
What you will do:
- Execute manual and automated testing on Windows and Linux, covering API, performance, regression and system integration testing.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks with industry tools to expand automation coverage and reduce manual effort.
- Collaborate with design, development and product teams to define test plans, implement TDD/BDD practices, and align testing to business objectives.
- Identify, document and track defects with clear reproduction steps; analyze results and drive remediation.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and continuous improvement efforts to streamline testing and delivery.
What you will need to have:
- 4+ years of professional software development experience (or 4–7 years equivalent combination of education, related work and/or military service).
- 2+ years hands‑on programming in Java, C, C#, C++ or a similar language.
- 2+ years experience working with SQL databases.
- 2+ years working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD pipelines/DevOps practices and Agile methodologies.
What would be great to have:
- 4+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
