POSITION SUMMARY
CVS Health Digital is looking for hands-on, passionate people who want to join a high energy and growing team to make a difference in customers’ lives and who want to be on the forefront of digital innovation that aims to reinvent what a pharmacy and a health care company can be in the digital world. CVS is seeking an experienced Senior AI Engineer to design and implement scalable AI-driven applications. This Senior AI Engineer should have experience with LLMs, RAG, fine-tuning, and related AI/ML domains. Additionally, this Engineer should be skilled in programming languages such as Python, and proficient with cloud-based AI platforms and frameworks. The role requires strong analytical thinking, a deep understanding of model training and evaluation, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions that deliver measurable impact.
Responsibilities for the Role
- Design, develop, and maintain both front-end interfaces and backend services with AI capabilities
- Create and manage RESTful APIs and integrate AI services such as LLMs, embeddings, and document parsing tools
- Extract, transform, and analyze large datasets to enhance product features and user experience
- Implement highly optimized machine learning pipelines with quantized models for legacy hardware
- Ensure high code quality through rigorous testing, code reviews, and debugging
- Proactively solve technical issues and contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate them into our operations where beneficial
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of overall Software Development experience with at least 1+ year developing AI/NLP solutions using LLMs
- 3+ years of Python (or similar) development skills with experience in working with CSV/JSON/XML input formats
- Familiarity with cloud-based LLM services such as Google Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI
- Experience fine-tuning LLMs / SLMs
- Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) is a plus
- Experience with data processing, data analysis, and building data pipelines
- Solid understanding of rule-based processing and data-driven content generation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with lightweight local development for AI proof-of-concepts
- Prior work on e-commerce, retail, or marketing content generation
- Deploying applications on cloud infrastructure such as Azure, GCP
- Building scalable cloud solutions
- Familiarity with databases (SQL, NoSQL)
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$92,700.00 - $222,480.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
