Minimum Academic Requirements
- Minimum 4 years Bachelor’s Engineering degree in Corrosion Science, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.
- At least 15 years of experience in Cathodic Protection System in the Oil & Gas Industry.
- 10 years should have been spent in a senior engineering capacity as Technical Authority for Project Works related to Cathodic Protection System for Well Casing, Pipelines, Plant Piping Storage Tanks, Process Vessel and Concrete reinforced Structures.
- AMPP NACE Level III Certification or an equivalent professional credential.
- Fully conversant with AMPP & ISO Standards for Cathodic Protection System
About the Job
The selected candidate will closely work and liaise with the Project Team, and Integrity Project team taking responsibility for all technical aspects related to the Cathodic Protection (CP) System during the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) execution phase. The role includes reviewing, supervision, testing, and approval of all elements of the CP System adhering to Project Specification and meeting applicable industry standards such as AMPP, ISO, and DNV. This encompasses the CP system design, installation activities, material datasheets, remote monitoring and control system commissioning, and handover procedures and activities. The selected candidate shall be required to work in both office and site-based execution of CP systems at all critical junctures during the Project in closed coordination and alignment with the COMPANY Integrity Project team – CP Specialist, Integrity Specialist.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure that CP systems are properly designed, installed, tested and commissioned in line with project requirements and integrity standards.
- Work closely with COMPANY Project Execution Team, and Contractor/ CP Subcontractor to align CP activities with overall project schedule and milestones.
- Interface with Integrity Project – CP Specialist to ensure CP design supports long-term asset integrity and corrosion control strategies as per approved code of practices and guidelines.
- Collaborate with Interface Management Team to resolve conflicts between CP systems and other disciplines (electrical, civil, mechanical)
- Review and approve all project deliverables submitted by the CP vendor, including design documents, material datasheets, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), construction documentation, testing protocols, commissioning procedures, and startup operating guidelines.
- Participating in the Pre-Design Site surveys jointly with EPC/ CP Contractor to align the Site Installation Schemes.
- Represent the Company to ensure that all requirements are met according to the approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), including witnessing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for critical CP equipment.
- Provide technical solutions for design changes, site issues, or unexpected corrosion challenges.
- Review and approve Software and hardware application for Remote Monitoring & Control System for integrated CP System.
- Review and validate Contractor Request for Inspection (RFI), IFC drawing and CONTRACTOR’s QA/QC documentation and test reports.
- Provide technical solutions and responses to site-based technical queries and authorize necessary design deviations from project specifications due to site challenges or construction constraints in alignment with Integrity Project team.
- Ensure all CP activities comply with COMPANY standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare progress reports, technical evaluations, and recommendations for management
- Supervise site work during crucial phases of CP system installation activities.
- Maintain a full-time supervisory presence onsite during pre-commissioning testing, commissioning, and handover processes.
- Review and Approve CP System commissioning, and Start Up reports
- Ensure proper handover with as-built documentation and O&M manuals.
