Caterpillar Inc. is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, off-highway diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives. We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics and Warehouse Manager to join our Large Power Systems team to support Caterpillar large engine production at our Kiel facility.
What You Will Do:
Introduce and develop warehousing and logistics plans and processes that affect production, distribution, and inventory.
Manage the day-to-day operations of all shifts for an on-site warehouse with a team of up to 40.
Manage staffing, development, and performance management programs for warehouse staff
Oversee warehouse and internal material movement operations, ensuring that safety, and schedules and performance requirements are met, and resources are used effectively.
Monitor overall warehouse and logistics performance and implement safety, cost, and quality control mechanisms.
Ensure the compliance of all regulatory guidelines and forges a safe and sound environment.
Inspire continuous improvement of logistics processes through process improvement, prioritization, and project planning.
Own the development and maintenance cost estimates, forecasts, and cost models.
What You Have (Key Skills/Experience Required):
Knowledge and significant experience of managing a warehouse and logistics operations.
Warehouse Operations: Knowledge of warehouse operations; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a warehouse or facility for products.
Warehouse Safety: Knowledge of warehouse safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
Warehouse Standards, Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in warehouse and logistics activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor processes for compliance.
Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
Degree or equivalent experience desired
Very good German (at least C1) and very good English skills (at least B2).

This role requires your presence at our Kiel facility and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
