Roles and Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Planning Engineer will report to the Project Control Manager.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain maintenance schedules using tools like Primavera P6. Prepare and update preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules for all equipment and facilities, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and reliability targets.
- Implement Company maintenance planning procedures and standards, cascading requirements to contractors and internal teams as necessary.
- Monitor and track maintenance activities, identify delays or potential risks, and report trends to the Maintenance Manager. Recommend corrective actions to avoid downtime.
- Prepare progress and compliance reports on maintenance progress, compliance with schedules, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure availability of manpower, tools, and spare parts for scheduled maintenance activities. Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams for timely material supply.
- Develop and maintain realistic and achievable maintenance plans, including activity durations, resource allocation, and sequencing. Maintain baseline plans and update them based on actual progress.
- Implement established maintenance planning and progress monitoring procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.
- Perform monthly updates of maintenance schedules, forecast upcoming activities, and analyze critical paths to avoid operational disruptions.
- Assess the impact of approved changes or deviations from maintenance targets and incorporate them into updated plans.
- Liaise with operations and engineering teams to ensure proper understanding of maintenance priorities, schedule sensitivities, and resource constraints.
- Review and evaluate contractor maintenance plans, monitor their progress, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Identify potential risks affecting maintenance schedules and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide input for benchmarking and reliability improvement initiatives. Capture lessons learned and contribute to maintenance strategy enhancements.
- Ensure all maintenance planning activities comply with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline
Experience and Skill set
- Minimum 8 years experience in Oil and Gas Industry in Maintenance Planning Engineer roles.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Oil and Gas related project delivery related projects
- Ability to work and manage in a multi-cultural environment with good understanding of cost estimation parameters to be considered in Middle East.
