Job Summary
The Standard Missile portfolio is seeking a Manager, Material Program Manager (MPM), to support development contracts within the Naval Standard Missile Systems Production (NSMS) Development portfolio of Naval Power. This role is located onsite at our Tucson, Arizona location. In this role you will be responsible for the execution of NSMS development programs that are critical to supporting the warfighter’s mission. This position is contingent upon a contract award. Employment in this role will only be extended if the program is awarded to the Naval Standard Missile Systems portfolio.
In this role, you will apply your existing knowledge of Supply Chain, material requirements planning and business acumen within a matrixed organization. This role requires advanced/applied knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) processes, subcontract management, project management, financial forecasting, Estimates at Complete (EAC) as well as Earned Value (EV). You will lead a team of 2 - 3 MPMs in support of executing these tasks with the potential to grow with additional scope.
The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communications skills to be able to influence and communicate effectively across multiple areas outside of one’s own job function as well as with parties external to the organization.
What You Will Do:
- Work closely with Program Management, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Engineering, Quality, Production Control and Procurement to develop and execute Material Strategies which support Customer requirements and meet Program objectives
- Lead by influence in a matrixed organization
- Brief program and customer leadership teams on Supply Chain status, material constraints and risk mitigation or opportunity capture plans
- Support supplier negotiations and PO placement as required to meet program cost and schedule objectives
- Financial management (i.e., EV, budgets, targets, working capital, proposals, material sales forecasts, etc.). The MPM may act as the Control Account Manager.
- Overall ownership of the supplier management process (i.e., Supplier Risk/Opportunity Management Plan, supplier performance, metrics, international issues, develop/evaluate the make/buy strategy, the Collaborative Agreement process, etc.), and communication of customer flow-through requirements such as FAR/DFARS, ITAR, offset, public law, quality, warranty, etc.
- Lead, develop and drive favorable performance for a team of 3 individual contributors
- Issue/Conflict resolution within organizations, between organizations and with suppliers
- Management of timely and compliant quarterly Estimates At Completion (EACs) to include Risk & Opportunity management
- Support MRP Scheduling and Master Data requests
