About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a
Client Program Leader in Merchant Services to lead complex, high-impact onboarding and integration projects for strategic merchant clients. This role requires deep expertise in merchant services, project management, client relationship management, Wells Fargo product integration, third-party vendors, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a proven track record of managing large-scale implementations, optimizing client experiences, and delivering results in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
In this role you will:- Project Leadership & Execution
- Own end-to-end implementation lifecycle for large enterprise merchant accounts
- Develop and manage large program matrix structures using industry best practices for Program and Project management, Stakeholder management, and executive reporting.
- Lead cross-functional teams including sales, account managers, technical support, and vendor partners
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time with exceptional project collateral and successful transition to account managers
- Client Engagement
- Facilitate status meetings, provide progress updates, and resolve escalations
- Coordinate internal resources to ensure timely setup of merchant accounts, payment gateways, and reporting tools
- Serve as the primary point of contact for merchant clients during onboarding
- Develop client implementation and solution guides
- Ensure client readiness and satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution
- Process Optimization
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance onboarding efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain best practices, playbooks, and training materials for implementation teams.
- Coordinate internal resources to ensure timely setup of merchant accounts, payment gateways, and reporting tools
- Validate account configurations, onboarding requirements, funding setups, and compliance requirements
- Monitor implementation metrics and report performance to senior leadership.
- Strategic Collaboration
- Partner with LOB teams within Wells Fargo, Merchant sales teams, product, and operations teams to align implementation with business goals
- Contribute to onboarding process improvement and automation strategies
- Advocate for merchant needs in internal forums and influence product roadmap decisions
- Influence decisions across stakeholders to improve the client implementation experience
Required Qualifications:- 7+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:- 7+ years of experience in merchant services, payment processing, or financial services implementation
- Proven track record with leading large-scale and multi-stakeholder projects
- Strong knowledge of merchant onboarding and risk controls
- Strong understanding of payment acceptance ecosystems; including POS systems, gateways, processors, and APIs.
- Exceptional project management skills with proficiency in tools like MS Project and JIRA
- Experience with payment platforms like Clover POS, CyberSource Gateway, PAX POS, Commerce Control Center and other Fiserv systems
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred)
- Agile certification or PMP is a plus
