The HR Operations Project Manager plays a critical role in driving large, cross-functional initiatives that support global HR transformation. Reporting to the Americas Program & Transition Management Lead, this individual leads strategic, end-to-end project delivery for complex HR business process transitions—both within the organization and to preferred outsourcing partners. Working across a highly matrixed environment, the Project Manager partners with HR groups worldwide, regional and global service centers, IT, and external suppliers to ensure seamless execution. This role requires strong leadership, sophisticated stakeholder management, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while delivering high-impact results.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, orchestration, and execution of major HR initiatives, including developing charters, detailed project plans, and risk strategies.
- Manage large-scale, complex projects that involve multiple internal and external stakeholders across regions and time zones.
- Rigorously oversee deliverables to ensure alignment with business priorities, stakeholder expectations, timelines, and budget.
- Create and implement communication plans that support project milestones and effectively engage all stakeholder groups.
- Drive robust risk management activities, including identifying, analyzing, mitigating, and escalating risks as needed.
- Use MS Project to define milestones, build timelines, monitor progress, and maintain accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Represent the project in cross-organizational meetings, serving as a trusted advisor and central point of coordination.
- Foster strong collaboration, engagement, and performance among diverse, global project teams.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience leading large, cross-functional projects.
- 3+ years of experience using formal project management tools and methodologies (e.g., MS Project).
- Experience leading global project teams in virtual, distributed environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing HR outsourcing or HR transition projects.
- Lean Six Sigma experience.
- PMP certification (preferred but not required).
