The Boeing Company is looking for a Test & Evaluation Technical Services Specialist (Associate or Mid-level) to join our team in North Charleston, SC. This role will perform test asset management and ensure that the testing engineers, technicians and mechanics have the measurement test equipment when needed. In addition, this will role ensures the equipment is certified and ready for testing. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate or Mid-level Test and Evaluation Technical Services Specialist.
Metrology And Test Equipment Services (MATES) provides a full spectrum of test asset and metrology services and support for internal customers and products through all phases of the product lifecycle. Services include: calibration/certification for dimensional/optics, electrical/electronic and mechanical/physical measurement and test assets, sourcing management, measurement solutions, repair & maintenance, test asset selection and use, acquisition, allocation, resource and lifecycle management, and specialized test services.
MATES is comprised of engineers, technicians and administrative personnel who support programs, sites, business units and external/government customers by providing best value test asset management and metrology services through all phases of the product lifecycle. What is metrology? Metrology is the science of measurement. MATES is responsible for establishing an unbroken chain of measurement traceability from the point of application to internationally recognized standards, quantities, values or reference materials. Applied metrology at Boeing ensures that measurement standards, materials or equipment used to apply or determine measurement quantities are defined, repeatable, reproducible and traceable.
Position Responsibilities:
Receive and ship measurement and test equipment in support of business partners
Update equipment status using established systems and complete associated records
Prioritize and perform work according to automated daily reports, hot list, or as assigned by lead function
Perform visual check of M&TE/process equipment for discrepancies and wear
Identify, document, and route non-conforming items in accordance with metrology lab processes
Provide information and clarification to customers on metrology and test asset management processes
Work with employees engaged in the calibration and certification of M&TE
Perform computations necessary to analyze asset data (Logistics, availability, performance/ reliability, etc.)
Perform logistics associated with routing calibrated assets to remote Boeing labs and suppliers for calibration services
Perform review and certification of calibration certificates provided by Boeing approved calibration suppliers
Perform tasks associated with Test Asset Management and Property Management including asset tagging, redeployment, storage and surplus
Coordinates with others to plan product testing, estimate test support requirements and ensure availability of test equipment, materials, fixtures and vehicles
Maintain test documentation that supports regulatory requirements
Work under general supervision
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
1+ years of experience in asset management
1+ years of experience in shipping and receiving
1+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
Willing and able to work overtime if needed
Capable of lifting, pushing and pulling up to 35 pounds
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Associate’s degree or higher
Technical/Technology degree in the areas of math, science, engineering, metrology
Knowledge of calibrated M&TE assets used in engineering test, measurement, and production
Experience in project management
Experience in inventory management
Knowledge of aerospace industry

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range for Associate Level (Level 2): $51,000 – $69,000
Summary Pay Range for Mid-level (Level 3): $60,350 – $81,650
