The Senior Business Development Manager will serve as the primary growth lead for KBR’s business development activities at Hanscom AFB and the surrounding area. The Senior Business Development Manager will be responsible for winning new business across the KBR Air Force Program’s portfolio to include the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Air Force Sustainment Center, Air Force Research Laboratory, and other USAF Major Commands with a focus on those customers located at or reporting to Hanscom AFB. You will work to understand customer needs, identify business opportunities and develop solutions leveraging KBR’s current contracting vehicles or by competing for large, prime, full and open contracting opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead KBR’s Business Development efforts at Hanscom AFB to include:
- Expand KBR’s brand recognition among customer and industry partners.
- Identify and qualify emerging contracting opportunities.
- Work with local KBR operations staff to secure re-compete work and expand current contracts with new scope.
- Meet with targeted Hanscom AFB customers to understand their needs and how KBR’s capabilities can help address them.
- Work closely with experienced Capture Managers and Solutions Architects to develop solutions that address customer’s needs.
- Participate in tradeshows and conferences to meet new customers and communicate KBR’s unique value proposition
- Cultivate relationships with local industry partners including both large and small businesses who may team with KBR in prime or subcontractor roles.
- For select opportunities, act as the Capture Manager and take ownership of assigned opportunities in support of KBR’s growth mission and vision
- May be assigned large ($150M+) solicitation pursuits at various stages of the capture lifecycle primarily in USAF market to support KBR’s overall Air Force Programs growth team.
- Plan, lead, execute capture management activities to include:
- Participate in developing a healthy pipeline of new opportunities
- Qualify and assess the “win-ability” of new opportunities
- Develop a plan for securing knowledge and understanding of the customer’s requirements, challenges, issues, and needs during the capture phase and lead solutioning/planning sessions with the capture team
- Coordinate meetings with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices
- Lead milestone/gate reviews, black hat sessions, solution sessions, blue teams, and support proposal reviews
- Lead competitive assessments, teaming, and price-to-win efforts
- Lead the development and submission of white papers, RFI responses, and other proposal artifacts as assigned
- Apply KBR capture management best practices to each pursuit, including creating and disseminating capture artifacts—call reports, B&P budgets, win plans, solution documentation, key strengths statements
- Brief capture status to senior management at specified milestones in the capture process, when material changes occur and as requested

Required Qualifications:
- Security clearance requirements: Active Secret
- Bachelor’s Degree and a total of 15+ years of experience in DoD acquisitions. Experience can be a mix of government side acquisition management, project management, technical, and/or industry side business development.
- Strong network of USAF clients and industry partners, especially AFLCMC in the Hanscom AFB market.
- Demonstrated ability to work with senior industry and government leaders
- Working knowledge and experience with USAF acquisition organizations
- Demonstrated leadership skills in services-centric organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active TS (SCI eligible) security clearance
- Proven success in the following discipline(s): Business development, capture management, program management, acquisition processes, opportunity identification and qualification.
