What does a successful Mainframe Operator do at Fiserv?
As a successful Mainframe Operator, you will provide first level support in a 24x7x365 environment, for Data Center client processing. This is a Global Command Center environment with functions to include but not limited to file transmission monitoring, Batch processing, Mainframe monitoring, helpdesk functions and client calls. You will learn how to identify issues that may impact customers by proactively monitoring.
What you will do:
- Recognize, troubleshoot, escalate, document and resolve all Incidents on your shift.
- Monitor all systems via consoles, emails and event managers.
- Perform System Operation activities such as responding to messages, displaying queues, determining status, canceling or purging tasks.
- Run all Job Scheduler activities as needed (e.g. daily, weekly, monthly, on-request schedules, etc.)
- Complete basic problem determinations, (i.e. identifies specific error type, documents as needed, and follows appropriate procedures.)
- Recover and restart jobs terminated by hardware or software failures as directed.
- Ensure all scheduled tasks for shift are completed accurately and on time.
- Require good social and communication skills, including the ability to provide ongoing end user training and be an excellent teammate.
What you will need to have:
- High School Diploma and 2 years of relevant experience in applicable field.
- 2+ years of experience in Computer Operations or Information Technology Analyst Operations.
- 2+ years of experience with batch job scheduler JCL, CA7, Control-M, IBM Mainframe Consoles
- Experience in batch job processing, batch abend troubleshooting and batch job restart processes.
- Experience with large mainframe IBM environments
- Experience working with TSO, ISFP, CAVIEW, SYSVIEW and IOF
- Experience with ITIL ticket systems; BMC Remedy experience and/or Service Now
What would be great to have:
- Experience with enterprise job scheduling solutions (preferably ESP/Control-M/AppWorx)
- Experience with Moogsoft
- Experience working with Communication/Data within any of these transfer protocols (IP, TCP, HDCP, HTTP, FTP, Telnet, SSH, POP3, SMTP, IMAP, Informix, NDM & Cyberfusion)
- ITIL Service Management Tools such as: Remedy9 / Service Now, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Configuration Management , Service Level Management/SLAs)
- Related industry experience in Banking or Financial Services Industry.
- Experience with Windows 2008 Server, IIS and SQL administration.
- Typing 40 words per minute.
Shift Details:
- Second shift; Days of operations: Rotating three- and four-day work weeks (7PM to 7AM ET)
