Sonoma Reinforcing, Inc. is a locally owned concrete reinforcing steel contractor in Windsor, CA, fabricating and installing rebar in Sonoma, Marin, Napa, Solano, and Mendocino counties. We are seeking a full-time Rebar Detailer/Estimator.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project documents: Interpret structural, architectural, and civil drawings to understand the project's scope and rebar requirements.
- Perform material takeoffs: Calculate the specific types, sizes, and quantities of rebar and accessories needed for each part of the structure.
- Generate cost estimates: Develop detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and other project-related expenses.
- Utilize specialized software: Use Shear 97 and ShearCAD for accurate takeoffs and data entry. Use and maintain Excel workbooks and create Word and Adobe documents.
- Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate estimates and smooth project execution.
- Ensure compliance: Verify that estimates and material selections meet industry standards and project specifications.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Solid understanding of concrete structures, rebar materials, formwork, and placement.
- Ability to read and understand structural, architectural, and civil type drawings.
- Strong foundation in mathematics for accurate calculations.
- Attention to Detail: crucial for accuracy in creating detailed drawings and specs.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze design issues and propose effective resolutions.
- Excellent organization skills, time management, and multitasking abilities to handle project deadlines.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- 3+ years experience in the construction industry.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
