Description:• Execute and supervise test plans and procedures for mechanical testing of Orion systems and subsystems
• Operate within the Orion Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) flow, managing test execution, real‑time anomaly troubleshooting, and completing all required documentation (no design development duties)
• Prepare test assets: including gathering equipment, configuring Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE), and coordinating with cross‑functional teams to secure necessary resources, instrumentation, and safety compliance.
• Lead on‑site test execution for current flight hardware (Artemis III & Artemis IV) and upcoming Orion production units, overseeing acceptance, environmental, and ground‑servicing tests (fluids & pneumatics, mechanical structures, mechanisms) at the assembly, subsystem, and spacecraft levels.
• Provide 24/7 test support, rotating shifts and covering weekends and holidays as needed to meet critical test windows and schedule commitments.
Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree (Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field preferred) or equivalent experience/combined education
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain effective cross-functional relationships and an ability to work and lead in a team environment
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, schematics and test specifications for testing of hardware
• Willing to work extended hours, including second/third shifts and weekends, in support of test activities
• This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills:• Willingness to travel to other LM Space campuses to perform Test Engineering activities
• Certified Test Conductor (CTC) training
• Fundamental knowledge of test engineering, operations, and processes
• Experience with structural, environmental or pneumatic testing
• Experience using Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (pneumatic or fluids loading panels)
• Experience with fluid systems, such as Propulsion or Environmental Control and Life Support
• Experience executing test plans, test procedures, or technical documents
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules
• Knowledge of the Orion spacecraft or experience on a production spacecraft program
• Experience using Automation Framework tools
• Thorough understanding of LM command media for Test Engineering

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
