Role OverviewWe are seeking a
Senior Numerical Control (NC) Programmer who thrives in a high-tech, high-accuracy manufacturing environment. In this role, you will translate engineering drawings into robust, efficient CNC programs for multi-axis machining centers. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, machinists, and production teams to optimize processes, enhance manufacturability, and deliver precision components on schedule.

Key Duties & Responsibilities• Develop and write CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines based on engineering drawings and specifications.
• Analyze engineering documents to define part configurations and determine machining sequences.
• Select cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and strategies aligned with machine tool capabilities and material requirements.
• Optimize program routines for best-in-class efficiency and precision.
• Test, update, and refine existing programs in response to engineering changes or improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and solve machining challenges.
• Drive improvements in tooling, fixtures, processes, and workflows to enhance throughput and quality.

Basic Qualifications:Candidates must meet all requirements• Deep understanding of CNC machining processes.
• Demonstrated ability to program 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC equipment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills:“Nice-to-have” skills that strengthen candidacy
• Experience with Siemens NX, Mastercam, or NCL.
• Strong understanding of test execution processes.
• Effective multitasking abilities and strong interpersonal skills; proven teamwork and collaboration.
• Knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical test methodologies and related equipment.
• Experience with Mazak and Siemens controllers.
• Skilled communicator with ability to resolve issues and present complex technical topics to diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated capacity for building strong cross-organization relationships.
• Experience leading or implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Background in tooling or fixturing design.
• Experience developing and deploying new tools, processes, or methods.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
