We are currently seeking an Engineering Intern for our Huntsville, Alabama Site in the summer of 2026. In this role you will:
• Provide Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving to address technical challenges supporting production and new development.
• Perform software engineering best practices to include design, development, and software/hardware integration.
• Design and implement cabling, circuits, or PCBs to address obsolescence issues and support new development.
• Develop Test Procedures and perform functional verification testing and integration of new products and design refreshes.
• Conduct End-of-Life assessment, impact, and resolution for existing products.
• Support of limited Environmental Test and Analysis
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
• Utilize the latest design tools and methodologies to deliver high-quality results.
Basic Qualifications:• Currently in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related from an accredited college.
• Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access
Desired Skills:• Standard teaming: Ability to work with multi-disciplined teams
• Experience in software Hardware integration and test development activities
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Familiarity with software development utilizing Agile processes and common technology stacks.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment and to build consensus among peers and effective relationships with team members
• Experience with embedded, aerospace and/or spacecraft flight software development and release
• Ability to work within multiple programming languages, operating systems, and development environments.
• Experience with DevOps tools, including GitLab.
• Strong knowledge and experience with scripting including Windows (Powershell) & Linux(shell scripting)
• Experienced Windows Domain/Active Directory Administrator.
•Ability to perform software integration and test development activities.
• Experience with NetAcquire systems and architecture.
• Experience with SpaceWire data bus I/O protocol.
• Experience leading teams through challenging engineering and/or programmatic issues.
• Experience in controlling lab test equipment and instrumentation.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
