What does a successful Test Engineer do?
A successful Test Engineer at Fiserv is an integral member of the Scrum team who brings technical rigor and a customer-focused mindset to deliver secure, reliable fintech solutions. You will partner with developers, architects and product owners to shift testing left, embed automation into delivery pipelines, and ensure software aligns with how people live and work today. You’ll help create repeatable, measurable quality practices that scale across enterprise systems while contributing to a collaborative, #FiservProud culture.
What you will do:
Design and implement manual and automated testing strategies for enterprise applications across web, mobile, API and microservice architectures.
Build, maintain and scale automation frameworks using Selenium, Cucumber BDD, Playwright or equivalent tools and author automation scripts in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript or Python.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and validate deployments in containerized and cloud environments.
Execute functional, regression, integration, performance and security testing, and analyze results to drive timely defect resolution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define testable acceptance criteria, improve test coverage and establish quality metrics.
Advocate for continuous improvement of testing tools, processes and observability; support production validation and incident prevention activities.
What you will need to have:
Strong automation background with Selenium WebDriver and Cucumber BDD, or modern alternatives such as Playwright; experience developing and owning automation frameworks.
Proficient scripting in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript or Python and using Rest Assured or similar libraries for API automation.
Solid API testing skills with Postman; familiarity validating JSON/XML services and testing microservices.
Experience with performance and security testing approaches (JMeter, OWASP methodologies) and embedding tests in CI/CD pipelines.
Practical experience testing in cloud and container environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes) and working with relational and NoSQL databases plus Git, JIRA and Confluence.
What would be great to have:
Experience in the fintech sector or payments domain.
Familiarity with Cypress, X‑Ray or Gerrit and production support processes.
Cloud certification or hands‑on exposure to managed cloud testing services.
Passion for mentoring peers and promoting quality engineering across teams.
