Job Summary
The Standard Missile 3 team is seeking an experienced Senior Material Program Manager to join the SM-3 IIA program and be responsible for a team of Material Program Managers located onsite in Tucson, Arizona. We are looking for a self-starter who can develop and achieve program objectives in a matrixed environment and is able to successfully interface with functional and program senior leadership. In this highly visible role, you will be the liaison between Supply Chain and the Program Team for Supply Chain. You’ll create and manage the execution of Material Program Strategies and Plans to ensure the flawless execution of products and programs from the front end of the business through contract closure.
This role requires advanced/applied knowledge of leading teams, proposal activities, customer negotiation support, material requirements planning (MRP) process, subcontract management and project management (to include program start up as well as execution).
In this role, you will apply your existing knowledge of supply chain, material requirements planning and business acumen within a matrixed organization. You will develop and lead a material program strategy/plan for programs or integrated product teams. Additionally, you will participate in proposals by leading supply chain proposal activities including task descriptions and basis of estimates and participating in gate review preparation as well as assist with the generation of Supplier Statement of Works (SSOW).
The successful candidate will influence and communicate effectively across multiple areas outside of one’s own job function as well as with parties external to the organization.
What You Will Do:

Work closely with Program Management, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Engineering, Quality, Production Control and Procurement to develop and execute Material Strategies which support Customer requirements and meet Program objectives

Lead and manage a team of Material Program Managers (MPMs) to ensure the successful execution of production contracts, including procurement, logistics, and supplier management, to meet delivery, cost, and quality targets. Brief program and customer leadership teams on Supply Chain status, material constraints and risk mitigation or opportunity capture plans

Support supplier negotiations and PO placement as required to meet program cost and schedule objectives

Financial management (i.e., EV, budgets, targets, working capital, proposals, material sales forecasts, etc.). The MPM may act as the Control Account Manager.

Overall ownership of the supplier management process (i.e., Supplier Risk/Opportunity Management Plan, supplier performance, metrics, international issues, develop/evaluate the make/buy strategy, the Collaborative Agreement process, etc.), and communication of customer flow-through requirements such as FAR/DFARS, ITAR, offset, public law, quality, warranty, etc.
