Program Summary
The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.
Job Summary
Maintenance Manager oversees the installation and operation of a field maintenance shop and recovery teams, ensuring optimal performance of personnel, equipment, and facilities. This role involves managing the repair and servicing of Ordnance and Motor Transport equipment, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and operational goals. Through subordinate supervisors, the manager coordinates daily operations, safety initiatives, resource management, and continuous improvement efforts to achieve superior performance and safety outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Supervise the installation, operation, and maintenance of the field maintenance shop and recovery teams, ensuring efficient servicing, storing, and repairing of Ordnance and Motor Transport equipment.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Interpret technical specifications, work orders, and drawings. Ensure all work complies with KBR's safety, quality, and performance standards, as well as government regulations and industry best practices.
- Financial & Resource Management: Review expenditure, financial, and operational reports. Recommend process improvements and ensure efficient use of resources, within budget limits. Approve requisitions for tools, materials, and equipment, ensuring compliance with KBR’s safety standards.
- Safety Management: Foster a safety-conscious work environment. Ensure adherence to KBR’s ZERO Harm and TSTI procedures, promoting a culture of safety in a labor-union setting.
- Human Resources & Performance Management: Manage resources within assigned area, set performance objectives/goals with safety targets, and oversee the day-to-day operational requirements of direct reports.
- Production Process & Continuous Improvement: Establish and supervise maintenance processes, recommending changes to enhance operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with MPF ISO-9002 policies and KBR’s safety management system.
- Administrative & Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of operational and financial reports. Contribute to the formulation of policies, procedures, and ensure adherence to administrative and safety standards.
- Training & Technical Guidance: Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to ensure compliance with operational procedures and best practices, making decisions where written guidelines are unavailable.
Basic Qualifications
- B.S. degree in a related discipline.
- In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credits, other formalized training or education, and directly related work experience may be considered.
- Eight years of directly related work experience including four years supervisory experience in an Ordnance and or Motor transport environment.
- Completed the Ordnance or Motor transport maintenance officer course, or equivalent.
- Ability to review and apply technical specifications and requirements.
- Ability to analyze equipment and forecast spare part equipment.
- Ability to analyze maintenance repair or operation to determine methods of improvement.
- Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
- Strong written and oral communication.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience in managing field maintenance operations, including recovery and contact maintenance teams.
- Strong knowledge of technical specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations related to Ordnance and Motor Transport equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, resources, and procurement within safety and operational guidelines.
- Proven track record in fostering a safety-conscious work environment and managing human resources in a labor-union setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- In-depth understanding of ISO-9002 policies and KBR’s safety management system.
- Familiarity with government regulations, industry standards, and best practices in maintenance operations.
