Caterpillar’s Electrification + Energy Solutions (E+ES) Division focuses on delivering advanced electrified power train, zero-emissions products/technologies, and the solutions and services associated with these technologies. Focus areas include batteries, fuel cells, motors, inverters, micro grid controllers, charging, energy storage systems, lifecycle solutions/services and integration of components for ePowertrain solutions across industries.

The Product Health section of the E+ES Purchased Finished & Product Health team is responsible for ensuring the quality, velocity, cost, and aftermarket coverage of Caterpillar’s current production electric drive motors, generators, and resistor grids, which are critical to Caterpillar’s existing electric drive product line, including Large Mining Trucks, Track Type Tractors, and Wheel Loaders. As the name indicates, this team is accountable for the overall health of these components, including successful series production, cost management, and strategic aftermarket initiatives. As an Engineering Project Team Leader, you will lead a team of engineers to deliver on these key initiatives while closely collaborating with both engineering and manufacturing teams across E+ES, Caterpillar, and 3rd party partners.
Lead through influence and closely collaborate with key partners within and outside E+ES and Caterpillar – Internal Caterpillar manufacturing partners, suppliers, external contract manufacturers, Motor Development teams, Procurement, Lifecycle Management, and Global Dealer Service
Lead a team of engineers in organizing, prioritizing, and managing Product Health initiatives for induction motors, switched reluctance motors, generators, and resistor grids supporting various Caterpillar machine products
Own and manage product cost for the aforementioned products – identifying, evaluating, leading, and/or supporting cost management initiatives
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related curriculum
Product Design, Development, and / or Manufacturing: Experience and knowledge of electric machines and/or drives; ability to design, develop, and manufacture products, technologies, and services.
Influencing Through Expertise: Extensive experience and knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
Effectively manages activities and maintains strong working relationships with numerous engaged groups – team members, suppliers, external contract manufacturers, internal manufacturing partners, purchasing, and adjacent engineering teams.
Project Management: Knowledge of and experience with effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Team Management: Extensive experience and knowledge of effective team building techniques; ability to form, manage, and improve effective teams.
Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Extensive experience and knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve problems utilizing both internal and external resources and expertise.
Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
