As a Materials and Processes Engineer, you will:
• Lead small-group project teams to propose, select, qualify, and test metals and composites for hyper-sonic projectiles and atmospheric re-entry vehicle applications
• Perform Materials and Processes (M&P) technical engineering assignments
• Troubleshoot problems and find innovative solutions
• Prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports
• Engage regularly with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to meet program objectives
• Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement
Typically looking for 2 to 4 years of professional experience

• The ability to work with management and program representatives at several levels
• Technical leadership of small teams or projects
• Proven ability to communicate key project information or recommendations to Program management and /or Customers
Basic Qualifications:• BS Degree in Materials Engineering or related background or field of study
• Formal coursework, training, experience and/or knowledge in the design, analysis, and/or construction of mechanical parts or materials
• Good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
This position requires the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance. US Citizenship required.
Desired Skills:• Knowledge of engineering drawings, bill of materials, alloys and heat treatment, polymeric materials and corrosion control methods
• Familiarity with technical requirements and engineering standards used in aerospace (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, computers and network systems.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task, with demonstrated leadership skills.
• Energetic, detail oriented and enjoy working in dynamic development environment with shifting priorities
• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
