Program Summary
KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 10 countries.
Job Summary
As a Heavy Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role on our program by operating company vehicles with precision and care, transporting various loads of equipment and materials.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from designated work locations, ensuring they reach their destinations safely and on time.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and adhere to all traffic and safety regulations.
- Maintain safe and efficient transportation.
- Receive assignments, instructions, and directions from the Foreman or General Foreman.
- Plan work activities based on written instructions.
- Operate company vehicles with a capacity of up to 30 tons, including both straight and combination trucks.
- Load and unload vehicles, properly securing loads using chains, binders, and straps.
- Maneuver tractor-trailer into loading or unloading positions following signals from others.
- Couple and uncouple trailers, connect or disconnect air and electrical lines and manipulate fifth-wheel locks.
- Follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing the required personal safety equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a NACI. Due to this, you must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Green Card holder who has lived within the United States for at least the last 3 years to be eligible for this position.
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of delivery driver experience in a combination (tractor-trailer) truck.
- Must be able to read and interpret instructions, documentation, and plan work activities.
- Requires the ability to carry 70 lbs. unassisted multiple times throughout the assigned shift.
- Must possess the ability to proficiently operate a vehicle equipped with a manual transmission.
- Must be able to climb ladders to inspect loads.
- Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- A pristine driving record free from disqualifying incidents such as license suspensions, DUI or DWI convictions within the past 5 years, multiple accidents or moving violations, as well as convictions for careless or reckless driving, and any criminal offenses related to vehicle operation is required.
- Experience operating under European Union motor vehicle laws.
