Boeing is seeking a Digital Operations Engineer to join the growing team in Boeing Additive Manufacturing Intelligence Center. The selected candidate will work onsite at one of the listed location options (El Segundo, CA; Berkeley, MO; Herndon, VA).

Additive manufacturing brings enormous opportunities to Boeing, including innovative designs, advanced tooling, enhanced flying platforms, individualized services, and many more. The enablement of scale and quality for additive manufacturing requires an end-to-end digital thread approach. Working within the Boeing Additive Manufacturing Intelligence Center, you will aid in the deployment of the AM digital thread and advanced software tools to address business needs. You will work directly with additive manufacturing partners to address their needs on data collection, data analytics, tool development, and smart factory. Finally, you will assist in customer consultations, deliver major system components, and advise on the use of appropriate software tools and processes.
Position Responsibilities (in order of expected daily focus)
Support daily operational activities related to maintaining the digital thread across the Additive Manufacturing Value Stream.
Monitor the daily operations of the Auburn Additive Manufacturing Facility digital thread, identifying and solving problems before they occur.
Assisting in data accuracy validation presented by the digital thread and informing teammates of issues when inaccuracies are found.
Actively identify and create scripts/tools/etc. that increase the supportability and lean operations of the digital thread.
Documentation of operations processes and relevant system information to ensure configuration management and reliability.
Actively support the testing and deployment of software tools for the Auburn Additive Manufacturing Facility to enable digital thread and digital twin capabilities.
Assist with the implementation of shop floor digital solutions, data management strategies, and enabling feedback loop of additive manufacturing data to support engineering design and qualification.
Assist with analyses to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
Ability to read, comprehend, and edit software code in a variety of languages (including: Python, C#, Groovy, Java, REACT)
Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems and system administration of both
Experience with troubleshooting issues that can arise on operational systems
Experience creating shell scripts for system administration and monitoring
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Masters in a relevant field of study
Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) technologies (Apache Nifi)
Experience with factory data historians
Relatable experience with at least one major database vendor’s product
Hands-on experience with implementing data acquisition in a manufacturing environment
Experience with the Software Development lifecycle (concentrating on Integration & Test and Sustainment)
Experience in continuous integration/delivery, agile management tools (TFS/Jira)
Strong communication skills and able to work with a geographically distributed development and support team.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range Senior: $146,200 - $197,800
Summary Pay Range Lead: $176,800 - $239,200
