Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has exciting multiple opportunities for CMM & Portable Metrology Engineering Technicians to support the Air Dominance Proprietary team in Mesa, Arizona!
Are you a precision-minded metrology expert ready to drive quality and innovation? We’re seeking a talented individual to join our advanced manufacturing team. You’ll program, review, and optimize NC/CMM processes — applying your GD&T expertise and laser tracking know-how to ensure world-class measurement integrity.
This position may be located primarily on 1st shift and follows a 9/80 working schedule. Initial training and intermittent support may be required on alternate shifts. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future depending on the business needs.
This position will be in support of multi-disciplinary teams and duties including:
- Provides expertise in inspection processes for numerical control, machining, programming and inspection of composite fabrication products
- Establishes technical requirements for manufacturing and producibility.
- Plans and guides the development and integration of machining techniques, manufacturing methods, processes, software and equipment to support the design, manufacture and inspection of parts and assemblies.
- Identifies equipment and approaches, coordinates and assigns work and trains/mentors others.
Successful candidates will have experience with CNC Machining, Composite machining, writing inspection programs, CMM and probing measurement tools.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop, validate, and maintain CMM programs and portable metrology routines (laser tracker, probing) for complex machined and composite parts.
- Verify and review NC/CMM programs as an NC Programming Reviewer to ensure accuracy and repeatability
- Support in-process inspections, first-article inspections, and audits using on-machine probing and portable measurement systems.
- Apply GD&T principles to inspection plans and interpret engineering drawings.
- Support NCQA & Leica processes for continuous improvement and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve measurement issues and improve product producibility.
- Works under general direction.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- More than 3 years of programming experience using dimensional measurement systems (e.g., photogrammetry, coordinate measuring machines, laser tracker, laser radar, laser alignment, Keyence blue light scanning, and portable measurement tools).
- More than 3 years of experience working with GD&T (ASME Y 14.5)
- More than 3 years of experience performing inspection utilizing on-machine probing and/or laser-tracking
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Level 4: 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
- Active U.S Security Clearance

Shift:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for experienced level (Level 3): USD 95,200 – 128,800
Summary pay range for senior level (Level 4): USD 117,300 – 158,700
