Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
About Platform Distribution & Partnerships: Platform Distribution and Partnerships is a division of NBCUniversal's media group responsible for the distribution and monetization of the company’s multi-billion-dollar linear and streaming services portfolio to pay-tv providers, NBC broadcast affiliates, consumer technology platforms and devices, and consumer brands. A key revenue-generator, the division is comprised of content distribution, affiliate relations and strategic partnerships across NBC, Peacock, Bravo, Telemundo and various FAST channels.
The Affiliate Relations Division serves as the primary liaison between NBC Network/Peacock and 200+ NBC Affiliate stations nationwide, partnering across Entertainment, Sports, News, and Peacock. This role is critical in managing high-value station relationships, overseeing NBC Sports scheduling and clearances, and ensuring seamless execution of network strategy at the local level. The position will be based at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City.
- Manage and strengthen relationships with affiliate station leadership and NBC Sports executives, acting as primary point of contact for sports scheduling, policy, programming, and operational matters.
- Negotiate affiliation agreements, including reverse retransmission rates, with station groups – ensuring alignment with NBCUniversal strategic and financial objectives.
- Oversee national NBC Sports clearances for the full affiliate footprint (200+ stations), maximizing coverage and addressing any programming or clearance gaps.
- Collaborate with NBC Sports executives to plan and manage local inventory across major events (e.g., Olympics, NFL, PGA), ensuring compliance and optimizing revenue opportunities for both network and affiliates.
- Real time management of on-air NBC Sports Programming. Examples include changes in run time, inventory exchanges and preemptions due to breaking news.
- Analyze ratings, clearance data, and station trends to inform negotiations, network strategy, and affiliate support initiatives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate brings local broadcast or network-level experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate confidently in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment within the media and sports landscape
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in media/entertainment with experience in broadcast/local television affiliate relations.
Desired Characteristics:
- Strong relationship-management and communication skills, with the ability to confidently interface with senior executives and station leadership.
- Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented with a track record of managing multiple high-stakes priorities simultaneously.
- Self-starter and demonstrates initiative
- Collaborative team player who contributes to a productive, positive work environment.
- Must be willing to work overtime and be flexible with hours including weekends and overnight if necessary.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and video conferencing platforms (including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Bachelor’s Degree
Additional Requirements:
This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Salary range: $185,000 - $235,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible)
