Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Digital Producer
NBC10 Philadelphia and Telemundo62 are searching for a jack-of-all-trades storyteller. Someone who can not only produce compelling videos but also write clearly and quickly in a very active newsroom environment. This candidate must feel just as comfortable turning a breaking news script or web story as they do crafting social-first videos that perform on social media platforms
The ideal candidate has worked in news and will feel comfortable working simultaneously on multiple pieces of content across platforms while maintaining brand identity. This role will partner and collaborate with audience development to learn about our viewers and quickly grow them.
We are looking for someone with proven ability to create videos that are relevant, shareable, and attract a captivated, growing and loyal audience. Our ideal candidate is someone with a video-content vision and competitive edge who can collaborate with team members to develop strategic best practices based on audience learnings per platform.
The right candidate should be enthusiastically curious about industry trends regarding video creation and associated revenue. This person should understand the power of breaking news, and love editing, pitching concepts, and finding innovative ways to tell stories. They should be a digital video expert across platforms, have excellent people skills, and be willing to try new things. This person should be comfortable working on in-depth investigations or clever viral talker stories of the day. We are looking for a self-starter who always wants to create videos and drive to the next big thing. Our ideal candidate can pitch a concept, produce, edit and deliver, and be passionate about every step of the process.
Responsibilities:
- Create video for a variety of social, digital and streaming platforms.
- Help grow existing digital video offerings on platforms.
- Write, pitch, produce and edit original videos for digital platforms.
- Gather, sort and find stories in data and present data visually in videos.
- Be able to digest lots of information and present it in a simple video.
- Develop, Write and Produce digital specific series/franchises.
- Develop graphic elements and treatments for your videos to engage mobile and social users.
- Develop best practices and expertise around creating, publishing and distributing videos specific to various digital platforms, and train digital and linear teams in those best practices.
- Actively monitor a variety of video sources to identify content that would appeal to our audience.
- Write headlines and text for your videos to maximize engagement.
- Report and write news stories for our website and mobile app
- Engage with viewers and sources who reach out through social media
Qualifications
- A successful candidate will also have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Ability to multitask on a breaking news story, including gathering social assets, sending breaking news alerts, and communicating with the newsroom
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a multi-platform environment and writing/producing content at a news organization (print, online or television)
- Demonstrated knowledge of social media platforms
- Knowledge of broadcast, digital writing, and AP style
- Experience with video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere
- Excellent news instincts with the ability to react decisively to breaking news
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and stories simultaneously with a team player mentality
Eligibility Requirements
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work in Philadelphia, PA
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends & holidays
- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
