Job Summary
As a Vehicle Management Superintendent, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of vehicle management processes while upholding regulatory compliance and safety standards. Serve as the base technical advisor and point of contact for all vehicle maintenance and management matters and attend all applicable meetings. Ensure vehicle management operations, government motor vehicles (GMV) and equipment are managed and maintained in accordance with all applicable references. From overseeing equipment calibration and certification under the Test, Measurement, & Diagnostic Equipment program (TMDE), your responsibilities will span across various facets of the operation. You will enforce good shop housekeeping practices, and correct deficiencies IAW host nation laws, DoD standards, and applicable Air Force and Performance Works Standards (PWS). Must control and ensure all areas inside the Vehicle Maintenance compound/yard are managed and maintained properly. Must have the ability to promote safety and quality awareness within the department and promote teamwork. Additionally, you'll lead comprehensive training programs to ensure employees are proficient in using and maintaining shop machinery and equipment. Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage Composite Tool Kits (CTK) and Individual Tool Kit program to ensure tool accountability.
- Perform outgoing quality control inspections on all emergency vehicles and vehicles serviced for the following reasons: 1) annual inspection, 2) accident repairs, and 3) repairs involving safety items, i.e., brakes, steering, front end alignment, etc.
- Provide mobile maintenance services for breakdown of Government vehicles unable to driven to the vehicle maintenance shop.
- Provide on–call, 24/7 emergency maintenance service for firefighting, law enforcement, ambulance, aircraft towing, MHE/463L, and other vehicles when the number of in-commission vehicles fall below levels established on the Minimum Essential Listing (MEL).
- Respond within two hours upon notification that emergency maintenance assistance is required.
- Provide qualified, licensed, and trained employees to accomplish all mission requirements.
- Provide Minimum Essential Listing to Vehicle Control Officers and Vehicle Operations annually.
- Familiarize employees with host nation laws, local base policies, and regulations applicable to their area of responsibility.
- Develop operating procedures and equipment operating instructions (OI), and ensure procedures and instructions are written in English and host nation language.
- Comply with AFI 24-302 paragraph 1.6 to establish minimum serviceability standards for day-to-day operations and ensure vehicles are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition.
- Frequent travel to sites in Turkey and Spain will be based on needs for the project.
Basic Qualifications
- Must have 5 years minimum experience as a Vehicle Maintenance Superintendent.
- Shall possess, or have the ability to obtain, a driver’s license IAW Host Nation laws, applicable AFI’s, or SOFA requirements.
- Must have the ability to acquire and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC), and gain access to the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).
- Must have basic computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft/Windows based programs.
- 5+ years of quality supervisor/manager experience (industry-specific experience is a plus)
- Deep familiarity with Quality Management Systems & standards (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 55001, AS 9100, etc.)
- Experience with the development and implementation of nonconformance management, audit management, and continuous improvement programs
- In-depth knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies of Quality and Project Management
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, SharePoint)
- Ability to obtain security clearance, work visa, and any other applicable security requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience/certification as a Fleet Vehicle Manager.
- At least five years’ experience as a vehicle mechanic.
