Independently handle engine design and development projects. Use tools and processes such as UG (Unigraphics/NX), Team Centre, Tolerance stack up, VDRA, DFMEA & APQP. Responsible for completing assigned development work while meeting cost, quality, and velocity targets.
Job Duties:
- Work as an independent contributor for the assigned design/ development project.
- Create models & concept drawings for engine systems & components.
- Work with suppliers to develop parts by following the CPPD process.
- Responsible to work with detailing, checking, and releasing team in completing the drawings as per Progress rail standards as well as release them to production.
- Work closely with various stakeholders and provide project updates.
- Ensure assigned projects are delivered with right quality & velocity.
- Support validation planning, execution and analysis.
Background / Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engine/Automobile/Mechanical Engineering
- 7+ years of component engineering design & development experience
- 5+ years of demonstrated proficiency in UG NX, Creo and Team Center (Hands on experience in part modelling, assembly, tubes & sheet metal components.)
- Good understanding of various engine systems function & components
- Strong knowledge of GD & T, drawing knowledge is expected.
- Good at multitasking, Project management and delivering desired results under challenging requirement of quality, cost & timeline.
- Good English oral and written communication skills
- Good team collaboration
- High customer focus & high sense of urgency to customer requirement
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office software (Excel, Powerpoint etc)
Desired Qualification/Experience:
- Engine component design & development experience
- Knowledge of Progress rail Product development process.
