Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
The Director of Brand Partnerships will help to execute the GTM vision for Brand monetization and Sponsorship Opportunities for select brands from the NBCU and Versant portfolio. You will report to the designated Vice President of Brand Partnerships, and collaborate cross-functionally within all facets of Advertising & Partnerships, Enterprise Marketing and Communications Team (Development, Sales Enablement/Trade, Commerce, Creative, Communications, Enterprise, COE), Network Leadership, Events, Finance, Planning, Research, Business Affairs, Legal etc.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with VP, Brand Partnerships to develop opportunities and go-to-market sales strategy for new and returning programming/IP.
- Lead the rollout of new sales tools and material to the Ad Sales Organization, including getting time in All Hands Meetings, highlighting opportunities in Newsletters, and ensuring the availability of resources on company sites.
- Collaborate with Sellers/AM’s, Sales Enablement, Development and Planning to respond to real-time client feedback on opportunities.
- Provide package customization and support sellers in moving deals down the sales funnel.
- Along with VP, Brand Partnerships serve as Brand/IP sales expert for broader NBCU Ad Sales team.
- Maintain pipeline of client interest, prospecting, and sponsorship revenue around tentpole/ priority programming.
- Manage category exclusivities, incumbencies, and renewal process.
- Advise on Tentpole Category heat & identify whitespace opportunities to drive demand.
- Triage sales issues as it relates to partnerships.
- Support VP Brand Partnerships in the identification and exploration of new revenue streams tied to content and IP.
- Serve as Acting VP for designated business line when VP is absent
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive experience in sales and/or marketing with proven client service management
- Proven Experience working with brand advertisers in both TV and digital; proven ability to provide category-specific knowledge and experience to develop holistic solutions that generate revenue and ROI for brands
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in media marketing and the advertising sales process
- Understanding of B2B branding development, strategy, tactics and execution
- Strong interpersonal skills (i.e., the ability to interact with all levels of management and the ability to lead and motivate and influence both internal and external teams)

Additional Requirements
- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the NYC office a minimum of four days per week, Monday-Thursday.
Salary range: $130,000 - $160,000 sales incentive compensation + long-term incentive eligible
