Description
As an Assembly Planner at Caterpillar Inc., you will directly support Manufacturing Engineers and Assembly teams on the plant floor by designing and documenting standard work, standard tooling, safety protocols, ergonomics, and other assigned duties.
Use Engineering prints and release notices to develop production operation sequence and documents in assembly routing system.
Develop detailed standard work for each process; identifying component parts, specifying technical aspects of part installation or application, identifies tooling, or any fixtures required for production.
Develop or update tool list for each process; ensuring torque value is to print and providing the best tooling type for the job (battery powered, air powered, click wrench, etc.)
Performs changes to standard work and other relevant assembly procedures based on Engineering input.
Develop and update SFMEA’s as required; process change, new safety data, new workcenter/process.
Utilizes systems such as Team Center, ProPlanner, SAP, ETQ, PRWB
Follows and utilizes Caterpillar Production System principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
Relies on independent decision-making and problem solving to complete job tasks.
Must meet deadlines.
Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
Cross-functional communication to complete tasks.
Provide summaries to leadership.
Contributing team member
Basic Qualifications
Two years of related mechanical assembly experience
Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
Ability to perform repetitive operations
Basic Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Shift: 1st Shift
Hours: M–Th 6 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Overtime may be required on Fridays based on business needs.
