Description:The Lockheed Martin Space Mission Integration team seeks a highly skilled, motivated, and team-oriented software engineer to join our Strategic Operations Analysis team in Littleton, CO. This teams provides physics-based modeling, simulation, and analysis to identify and validate the viability of future space capabilities.
As a software engineer with Mission Integration, you will contribute to the team’s efforts to design, develop, test, and deploy high fidelity multi-domain models to inform executive leadership, space strategy, and business development. Responsibilities include:
• Planning and conducting software development activities
• Designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging software for a system performing complex calculations including orbital projection and multi-domain effects
• Applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. This will include working within an Agile workflow and supporting major program milestone events
• Correcting program errors, preparing operating instructions, compiling documentation of program development, and analyzing system capabilities, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls
• Ensures software standards are met in conjunction with team leadership
• Assist with modeling, analysis, and visualization of analysis as needed
Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor’s or master’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical discipline.
• 3+ years of related experience working on software development projects
• Ability to interact with peer-developers to facilitate interoperability with other modeling environments
• Experience working closely with mission analysts to generate lacking analysis capabilities
• Understanding of and comfort developing software in C++
• Experience using scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB
• Experience with AFSIM as well as the development and integration of AFSIM plug-ins
• Experience with other modeling environments
• GITLAB management experience to include creating / managing CI/CD pipelines
• Experience supporting modeling & simulation of campaign-level scenarios
• Active TS clearance with ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a TS//SCI clearance. Investigation within the last 5 years
Desired Skills:• Experience with writing software for computationally complex problems
• Demonstrated understanding of software design with a focus on high throughput calculations
• Enthusiastic, curious, and team focused
• Experience developing software interfaces including integration with third-party API’s
• Expertise in both the Space & Aero mission areas with an ability to demonstrate operational and tactical insights to support multi-domain efforts
• Active presence across the AFSIM development community
• Experience conducting joint-domain analysis and product delivery.
• Active TS/SCI clearance

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $93,200 - $164,450. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
