What to Expect
As a Service Advisor/ Estimator you will work directly with the company’s customers in the collision and vehicle service departments. Oversees and manages the entire repair process of the vehicle from start to completion.
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities:
Works in the office with possible travel to partnering locations.
- Full cycle of customer service: handling incoming calls, providing service consultations, scheduling appointments, electric vehicle intake, and more
- Determine the required scope of work, parts, materials, and labor costs.
- Prepare accurate and detailed repair estimates using industry software (e.g., CCC One).
- Photograph vehicle damage and prepare all necessary documentation.
- Explain to the customer the nature of the damage, repair stages, and cost of services.
- Communicate with insurance companies, handle claim-related issues, and negotiate estimate approvals.
- Monitor repair progress and provide timely updates to customers.
- Order necessary parts and communicate with suppliers.
- Coordinate work with technicians and production staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of repairs.
- Maintain customer and repair records, keeping all files organized and up to date.
- Oversee the quality of completed work and compliance with safety standards.
- Contribute to improving the department’s service level and operational processes.
- Comply with company policies, industry standards, and insurance regulations.
- Monitors and follows up on parts orders with the parts manager to ensure availability
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business
- Informs repair technicians of time allowances on each repair order
- Maintains high-quality service, repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality
- Keeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases
- Ensures that the work areas and customer waiting area are kept clean
- Ensures that customers' service files are up-to-date and readily available for reference
- Ensures that all customers are greeted promptly and given fair estimates on costs and time required for repairs and maintenance
- Prepares pricing guides and maintenance menus for frequent labor operations
- Establishes and maintains follow-up with all customers to confirm satisfaction with the service experience
- Maintains a safe work environment
- Maintains a professional appearance
- Other tasks as assigned
What You’ll Bring
Requirements:
- High school diploma; Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
- One year of related experience and education is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
