Under the direction of the Director of FP&A, the FP&A Associate is responsible for supporting comprehensive financial planning, reporting, and analysis activities across all business units.
What You’ll Do
As our FP&A Associate, you’ll:
- Preparing the Monthly Operating Review (MOR) presentation for all business units
- Assist Controllers in the preparation of supplemental schedules to the financial statements.
- Perform variance analysis comparing actual results versus budget, prior year, and forecast for SG&A and overhead (OH) accounts.
- Maintain and update KPI reporting, ensuring accuracy and consistency across business units.
- Provide detailed margin erosion (waste) analysis, including root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action (CA) reporting.
- Standardize and automate monthly reporting and dashboard processes in partnership with the IT department.
- Manage the company’s Capital Expenditure (CapEx) budget and track year-to-date (YTD) spend.
- Maintain Balance-to-Spend schedules and ensure proper reconciliation and reporting.
- Oversee monthly depreciation calculations and communicate related journal entries to Controllers.
- Maintain and distribute the monthly financial reporting calendar to ensure timely deliverables.
- Support inventory management by assisting with business unit cycle counts and year-end inventory counts.
- Conduct profitability analyses for new product offerings to support business case development.
- Prepare supplemental financial reports, including data extraction from ERP systems, data cleansing, and transformation into actionable Excel-based visual deliverables.
- Collaborate with business unit Controllers to prepare reports under tight deadlines and provide insightful monthly results analysis.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 2-4 years of relevant FP&A, finance, forecasting, and budgeting experience
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with ERP systems and business intelligence (BI) tools preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with executive leadership
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of management
- Consistently represent the company in a positive, professional, and ethical manner
- Ensure all tasks are completed accurately and with exceptional attention to detail
- Proactively identify and communicate potential issues to the Director of FP&A
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively
