Health Systems Analyst
Grade 309
This is a full time position, working from home.
The minimum and maximum annual salary that Monroe Plan believes in good faith to be accurate for this position at the time of this posting are $80,604 - $103,634. In addition to your salary, Monroe Plan offers a comprehensive benefits package (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements) and non-monetary perks. POSITION SUMMARY
The Health Systems Analyst will play a pivotal role in assisting cross-functional teams within the organization to make informed decisions by analyzing and interpreting data. This position will be responsible for building critical data infrastructures used to support automated workflows and insightful reporting.

Data Visualization and Reporting
- Develop Power BI dashboards utilizing DAX measures, Power Query (M), and Python scripting for ETL, automation, and advanced analytics.
- Conduct geographic and spatial analysis using ArcGIS to support population health initiatives, service area planning, and access to care assessments.
- Conduct descriptive or inferential analyses using statistical packages such as R, Stata with in-house and publicly available data for population health and health equity analyses.
- Create interactive visualizations that enable end-users to explore healthcare data and drive informed decision-making.
- Apply healthcare system knowledge, biostatistics or epidemiology to analyze, evaluate and predict quantitative processes and outcomes.

Data Collection and Database Management
- Clean and preprocess data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Use and query SQL databases.
- Use public data sources, including US Census Bureau data, New York State data, Statewide Planning and Research Cooperative System (SPARCS), registries etc. Use private data sources, such as hospital utilization data organized in non-standard formats.
- Ensure data governance and compliance with data policies and standards.

- Create and maintain automated workflows to enhance reporting and analytics processes using tools such as Power Automate, Python, and Power BI dataflows.

- Work closely with internal technical team(s) to engage in data modeling and business intelligence discussions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Health Homes, Provider Relations, Quality, etc., to gather requirements and to provide findings with non-technical stakeholders.

- Attend regularly scheduled department and intradepartmental meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Business, Public Health, Economics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or a related technical discipline.
- Strong technical aptitude and proficiency in query languages such as MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL
- Experience with statistical tools, such as STATA, R, Python
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau
- Solid understanding of data flows, data governance, and data modeling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex datasets and extract meaningful insights.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams and across departments on various projects.
- Punctuality and good attendance are essential to this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Keen interest in staying updated with new technologies and learning new skills.
- Curiosity and a natural inclination for innovation and improvement.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Tools (ex. Power Automate).
- Familiarity with GIS tools (ex. ArcGIS)
- Knowledge and experience with biostatistics, health economics, health policy or public health
- AI tools (CoPilot Agents, Claude Code, etc.)
