Job Description:
The Accounting Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across the Americas region. This position combines deep technical accounting expertise with process leadership and functional team coordination, driving operational excellence and compliance with corporate standards. While not a formal people manager role, experience in guiding and coordinating team members is a strong differentiator.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute core accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial validations.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Review and approve deliverables prepared by team members, maintaining adherence to internal controls.
- Analyze account balances and transactions, identifying risks and recommending corrective actions.
- Support preparation of financial statements and audit requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and process standardization across regions.
- Act as a liaison with cross-functional teams and regional stakeholders to resolve complex issues.
Leadership & Influence
- Provide functional leadership and technical guidance to team members, ensuring quality and efficiency in deliverables.
- Foster collaboration and alignment across diverse teams and geographies.
- Communicate effectively in multicultural environments, influencing stakeholders and driving results.
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability for critical processes and approvals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in general accounting or finance roles.
- Proven experience in process coordination and functional people leadership (guidance, task allocation).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and compliance requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
- Expertise in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
- Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
